- radio frequency identification chip (rfid) implant 3/1/06

dorkbot ,{ [link] }sponsored a series of lectures on rfid from varying points of view (consumer/government/anti-gov/business, conspiracy) ,and applications on rfid.
rfid started out as a tracking/identification technology for cattle,then pets etc. it has been used to track shipments, as well as sewn into garments to track purchasers and purchases.
it may soon appear in your passport full of stats on you. its rather a interesting topic, some uses are so good, others seem far to orwellian.

after being swayed back and forth on the topic, the festivities changed direction as everyone watched a live implantation/installation of a rfid chip.

the microchip implant can be used to hold info,open doors,safes,car doors, lock your pc and programs. a multipurpose data palm pilot key key chain. the dr had done over six similar implants. this one was small enough to be injected into the tissue between the thumb and forefinger.
